Lawyer (5 to 6 years), Civil and Commercial Litigation

The Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated lawyer with expertise in class actions to join our growing litigation group in the Montreal office.

The successful candidate will integrate a dynamic team engaged in complex civil and commercial litigation matters, including class actions and high-profile mandates involving product liability, contractual disputes and consumer protection, as well as opportunities in other areas including international arbitrations involving investor-state disputes or commercial contract disputes.

Essential Functions:

  • Play a key role in representing sophisticated clients before civil courts
  • Actively contribute to the strategic management of complex files by developing innovative, results-oriented legal solutions
  • Work closely with accomplished colleagues in a stimulating, collaborative, and excellence-driven environment
  • Be involved at every stage of the litigation, from drafting procedures to pleadings, including evidence management and negotiations
  • Contribute to the proactive management of legal risks for our clients by providing practical, business-oriented legal advice
  • Stay current on legal developments in areas relevant to the practice
  • Participate in business development initiatives and contribute to professional content creation (articles, presentations, etc.)

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate must be eligible to practice law in Québec and possess the following qualifications:
  • Five (5) to six (6) years of relevant experience in private practice in commercial litigation, including experience with class actions
  • An interest or background in international arbitration is an asset, though not a prerequisite
  • Excellent legal writing, analytical, and pleading skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
  • Bilingualism (French and English), both spoken and written

The successful candidates will have the opportunity to develop their career and skills as part of a growing practice and office that fosters an entrepreneurial spirit—with freedom and flexibility—as well as ongoing support through training and mentoring to ensure a rapid professional development. Our firm offers a collegial work environment, work-life balance, competitive compensation package and robust platform for success.
