We are currently recruiting for the following role in our Vancouver office:
Embedded Resource Assistant, Real Estate.
The Role:
The Resource Team is a valued group of highly skilled legal assistants who provide short and long-term coverage for assistants working in the Real Estate group.Essential Functions:
- Provide vacation/sick coverage for assistants throughout the real estate group
- Assist paralegals with real estate transactions (development, purchases, sales, and financings)
- BC Online searches and corporate online searches
- Receive, handle and process strata lot sale contract deposits
- Assist with transaction closings, including scanning and photocopying
- Collaborate with the finance team to deal with trust reconciliations, closing arrangements for deposits, closing funds, mortgage and other type of payouts, holdbacks and investments
- Assist with client billings and preparing invoices and account letters
- Prepare expense reports
- Maintain up to date contact information
- Liaise with internal clients (regional and firm-wide), lawyers, and staff on various matters
- Administrative duties as required such as managing calendars, coordinating meetings and making travel arrangements
Qualifications:
- Legal Assistant Diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution preferred
- Familiarity with corporate and/or real estate along with terminology and procedures an asset but not a requirement
- Strong computer skills including proficiency with MS Office
- Excellent organizational and communication skills; self-motivated with the ability to multi-task
- Impeccable proofreading, grammar skills and attention to detail
- Service oriented, adaptable, reliable and dependable
- Professional work ethic and great attitude
- Maintains confidentiality and discretion
- Exceptional ability to work independently with minimal supervision or within a team environment
Salary range: $55,00 - $65,000 based on experience and market information.
