We are currently recruiting for the following role in our Calgary office:

Embedded Assistant, Litigation

Essential Functions:

Clerical, administrative and general office duties, including:

  • Providing overload and project support to the Lawyers and other Legal Assistants on the team
  • Preparation of legal documents
  • Drafting of letters
  • Organizing meetings
  • Maintaining calendars
  • Building a positive rapport with clients
  • Document organization
  • Maintaining records and filings
  • Maintaining an up-to-date file and diary system
  • Providing coverage to the team for vacation, personal days and sick days

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years of related litigation legal assistant experience is required.
  • Legal Assistant Diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Has a positive attitude and team-oriented approach to supporting other legal assistants and lawyers.
  • Self-motivated and responds to everyday tasks with little supervision.
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality and discretion.
  • Willingness to adapt to new and innovative technologies to improve efficiencies and the value in our workflows.
  • Strong technical aptitude and a natural problem-solver for on-the-spot troubleshooting.
  • Keen attention to detail and superior organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to use innovative and legal technologies to fulfil tasks effectively and efficiently.
  • Knowledge of legal and technical procedures in a high-pressure environment.
  • Demonstrated willingness to continuously improve and learn from others.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and creativity.
  • Flexible and able to balance competing priorities.
  • Enjoy executing on ideas to create positive impact and work ethic.
