Overview

Quentin has a general international trade and investment law practice, advising clients on matters including Canadian customs law, trade remedies (anti-dumping/countervailing duty, safeguard and retaliatory measures), bilateral and regional free trade agreement, import-export compliance, Canadian export controls and economic sanctions, foreign corrupt practices, Canadian product regulatory and labelling and other legal issues affecting cross-border trade.

Quentin represents clients in trade controversy matters, including trade compliance verifications conducted by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and voluntary disclosures relating to the tariff classification, valuation and origin of imported goods. As an advocate, Quentin also represents clients in trade remedy and customs appeal proceedings before the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) and the Canadian Federal Courts.

Quentin is an Officer of the International Bar Association’s Trade and Customs Committee and served as Chair and Past Chair of the Ontario Bar Association International Law Section. 

Quentin was recognized in the inaugural edition and 2023 edition of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in Canada for his work in International Trade and Finance Law.
