Bennett Jones participated in The Sedona Global Intellectual Property Conference held in Milan, Italy, on June 9 and 10, 2026. Stephen Burns and Benjamin Reingold were the only two Canadian lawyers invited to present at the conference, contributing Canadian perspectives to global discussions on intellectual property law and litigation.
Benjamin presented at “Biotech and Pharma Patent Litigation: A Global Perspective.” The session examined the challenges of enforcing and defending biotech and pharmaceutical patents across jurisdictions, with a focus on how differing legal systems, regulatory regimes and forums shape global litigation strategy.
Stephen Burns spoke at “Artificial Intelligence in Patent Law and the Courts.” This panel explored how artificial intelligence is influencing patent law and litigation, addressing practical and procedural implications for courts and practitioners, as well as recent case law and emerging legislative responses.
