The 2015 Chambers Global Rankings have been published and once again Bennett Jones LLP remains one of the top ranked law firms in the country, with 60 individually ranked lawyers in 18 practice areas worldwide.

In total, Chambers Global ranked Bennett Jones four times with a Band 1 status (the highest level) for excellence in Environment, Energy: Oil & Gas, International Trade/WTO and Dispute Resolution: Alberta.

Bennett Jones has the distinction of a Band 1 ranking for Environment - Canada, recognized for the firm's continuing expertise in contaminated sites and Climate Change law. Leonard Griffiths, a partner and leading Canadian Environmental lawyer at the firm's Toronto office was recognized again as a Star Individual and noted as one of "the best environmental lawyers in the country." A star ranking is given to lawyers with exceptional recommendations in their field.

Also ranked in Band 1 was the firm's Energy: Oil and Gas practice, which was singled out for "notable experience of joint venture matters as well as regulatory issues and a strong profile within the LNG industry." This recognition includes Band 1 recognition for lawyers Patrick Maguire and Loyola Keough.

In addition, in the practice area of International Trade/WTO, Bennett Jones has been given another Band 1 ranking, a highlight of which is the firm's strength in global affairs, utilizing its Washington, D.C., Beijing, and Doha offices, in addition to its Canadian offices. Milos Barutciski and Darrel Pearson are ranked as Band 1 lawyers in this practice area.

Bennett Jones was also given a Band 1 ranking for the Dispute Resolution: Alberta. The firm was recognized "as a leading firm for commercial litigation, class actions and arbitration" in the province. Highlighted was also the firm's "expertise in technology, insolvency and construction litigation."

Other Band 1 lawyers for the firm are: John Craig QC (Construction), Michael Eizenga (Dispute Resolution), Randal Hughes (Competition/Antitrust), Jeffrey Leon QC (Dispute Resolution), Paul Mantini (Real Estate), Richard Orzy (Restructuring/Insolvency), and John Rook QC (Competition/Antitrust).
