What Clients Say

We are recognized (both nationally and internationally) as a pre-eminent Canadian law firm and as one of the leading Canadian restructuring practices with special expertise in cross-border restructurings. We are also known especially for our representation of foreign bondholders, foreign banks, insurance companies and other foreign lenders in Canadian restructurings. Our lawyers have also represented debtors in some of the largest and most complex restructurings in Canadian corporate history.

Our lawyers have played significant roles in most major Canadian restructurings and, in addition to being involved in restructuring proceedings in every province of Canada, have developed particular expertise in cross-border matters, including restructurings across Europe, Central America, Australia and of course the United States. Our lawyers have also acted as Canadian counsel in many significant and high-profile US-based restructurings. We understand and know how to navigate the bankruptcy and insolvency environment on both sides of the Canada–US border.

We are known for and take pride in our ability to apply experience and common sense in a timely manner to pursue the interests of our clients. Our reputation is built on being creative, proactive and assertive when circumstances demand, with a long track record of facilitating very significant consensual deals. Our practice is fully integrated, drawing on the firm's resources in litigation, securities law, corporate, tax and commercial law as well as mergers and acquisitions.

,,They are extremely knowledgeable and understand the restructuring world. They are extremely responsive and focused on clients' needs.,,
