The Role:
We are seeking a motivated Business Development Coordinator to work closely with the broader Client & Business Development (CBD) team, Department and Firm management, to help execute against strategic initiatives that further the firm’s client and business development priorities and goals. To excel in this role, you will enjoy working in a fast-paced team environment, have excellent people skills, be comfortable working on multiple projects and have a keen sense of curiosity and passion for continuous learning.
Essential Functions:
Business Development (50%)
- Assist with scheduling and coordination of marketing and BD-led meetings or presentations with practice groups, industry teams or key client teams, including support on reports and analysis to facilitate those meetings effectively
- Assisting BD team members with the tracking and follow up of actions related to industry and practice groups
- Supporting the BD team with any administration or updates relating to relevant Industry and Practice web pages and coordinating with the Marcom team
- Helping BD leads with maintaining trackers of relevant current and historical conferences, industry events and associations
- Working on Client Relationship Management tasks, such as updating International BD contacts and BD activity information into CRM (InterAction)
- Providing administrative support with the maintenance of the firm pursuit list
- Work with other resources across the department and firm as needed to ensure high-quality, efficient processes, reporting and intelligence that enables revenue generation
Experience Database and Directories (50%)
- With direction from team members support the writing, editing and proofreading of submissions for legal directories (i.e.: Chambers, Lexpert, etc.) to achieve and improve legal rankings for the firm and its lawyers.
- Assisting with the collection and population of mandate descriptions in Foundation, our experience management database
- Helping to gather matter information for research requests and reports (including transactional league tables), liaising with team members as appropriate
- Support ongoing integration efforts with other firm systems such as accounting, matter intake and CRM systems
- Work with team members on matters related to internal and external communications and website and bio updates of rankings & awards
- Other projects and Directories duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary studies in business, marketing, communications or public relations
- 1 – 3 years of relevant experience preferably in a corporate or professional services environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a “can-do” attitude
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage workload effectively
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong networking skills but with the ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Experience with Asana (or similar project management tools), InterAction (or similar CRM tools) and Foundation (or similar database tools) an advantage
