The Role:

We are currently seeking a detailed part-time Document Processing Specialist to join our Vancouver office. The hours for this role are Saturday – Sunday, 8:00am – 4:00pm PST.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide a friendly, helpful and knowledgeable first point of contact for staff of Bennett Jones seeking Microsoft Office Applications problem resolution
  • Converting PDF documents into Word or other formats as required and formatting same to firm standards
  • Transcribing dictation using BigHand Digital Dictation
  • Creating and troubleshooting blacklines using Litera Compare
  • Preparing and editing a variety of legal complex documents, spreadsheets, presentations, flow charts and PDF documents
  • Creating and troubleshooting Excel documents, including the ability to produce graphs and tables, use basic formulas efficiently, and perform calculations and automation to process large volumes of data
  • Variety of other tasks and projects, as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Three to five years of experience in a document processing department and/or as a legal assistant
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Above average knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, DocXTools, Litera Compare and BigHand software
  • Knowledge of Adobe Premiere, OmniPage and ProxyPro is an asset
  • Strong word processing skills including superior accuracy, proofreading and attention to detail are critical
  • Someone who is highly organized and self-motivated, possessing the ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision, will excel in this role

Salary range: $57,000 - $80,000 (full time equivalent) based on experience and market information.
