Summarize

Bennett Jones congratulates Hennadiy Kutsenko, Quentin Vander Scheuren and Samantha Weng on their appointment to counsel.

These promotions are a result of deep expertise of our new counsel in their respective practice areas and their commitment to delivering exceptional legal service to clients.

Hennadiy Kutsenko practices tax law with a focus on transactional work, including corporate reorganizations, cross border investments, public and private M&A, financings and restructurings. His particular area of expertise is GST/HST, with a focus on real estate development and transactions, whether commercial or residential. He also advises on executive compensation, including all forms of equity incentive plans, and registered pension plan taxation. Known for his technically rigorous yet commercially practical approach, Hennadiy brings both detailed analysis and big picture insight to complex tax matters.

Quentin Vander Schueren practices international trade and investment law, advising clients on customs, trade remedies, import and export compliance, sanctions, export controls and other legal issues affecting cross‑border trade. He represents clients in trade compliance verifications and voluntary disclosures before the CBSA, as well as in customs and trade remedy proceedings before the Canadian International Trade Tribunal and the Canadian Federal Courts.

Samantha Weng advises clients on the acquisition, disposition, financing and leasing of commercial real estate across Ontario. Her experience includes representing real estate developers, senior housing providers, institutional and private lenders, and trustees in bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings. Samantha is fluent in Mandarin and holds a certificate in Mandarin‑English business translation and interpretation.
