Bryan Haynes participates in the panel, "PRACtice Management: Client Conversation Tools," at the Pacific Rim Advisory Council 61st International Conference in Hong Kong. The panel is a discussion of innovative marketing and business development campaigns and tools that help start conversations and lead to business opportunities. Bryan Haynes is chairing "Buying and Selling a Business" at the LESA Conference March 2 (Edmonton) and March 9 (Calgary). Kelly Ford, Mark Kortbeek and James McClary are members of the Faculty. The theme of this program is buying and selling private businesses and includes discussions about structuring considerations from a tax perspective; pre-transaction considerations, including confidentiality agreements, letters of intent, and regulatory approvals; and negotiating, reviewing, and drafting key terms of asset-purchase agreements. The program will also include a timely topic – hybrid share/asset purchase agreements. There will also be a discussion on how to effectively close a purchase and sale transaction with effective use of closing agendas and execution of documents.

The forum featured panel sessions on meeting investors, corporate dealmakers, and navigating the U.S. market entry. Kelly Ford introduced a tech talk on digital oilfields and James McClary introduced the session on emerging resource recovery and management companies. The forum also featured tech talks on environmental stewardship and advanced materials.
