Chyna Brown

During her undergraduate studies, Chyna was a varsity sprinter with the Dinos Track & Field team, representing the university at USports National Championships. She was recognized as an Academic All-Canadian for her combined academic and athletic achievements. She also worked as a research assistant for the University of Calgary Students’ Union, supporting policy analysis, governance review and communications initiatives.

During law school, Chyna held leadership roles with the Black Law Students’ Association (Canada and Calgary Chapters), the Society of Law Students and the Tech and Law Association. She also served on the Faculty of Law’s Admissions and EDI Committees and volunteered with Student Legal Assistance.

Upon graduating law school, Chyna received the Dean Mike Wylie Social Responsibility Award presented to a graduating student who made a significant contribution to the understanding or resolution of social or human rights issues during their legal education.
