Julia Qian Wang and Jean Tessier have joined Bennett Jones as partners in the firm's newest office in Montréal. Julia advises clients on all aspects of Canadian domestic and international tax law. Jean is a recognized advisor in M&A, private equity and corporate finance providing comprehensive insights in support of his client’s business objectives.

Her practice has a particular focus on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, investment funds, tax planning and tax litigation. Julia also provides advice with respect to the establishment of fund structures, including private equity and venture capital funds, and investments by and in such funds. She is fluent in English, French and Mandarin.

Jean has extensive experience advising private and publicly-listed clients in a variety of industries and sectors on significant transformational transactions. He advises private equity and venture capital clients at each stage of the investment lifecycle from fund formation to fund financing, acquisitions and investments, management of portfolio companies and divestiture strategies.
He is ranked in Chambers Canada Guide 2024 in Corporate/Commercial. Jean is fluent in French and English.
