On June 10, 2015, Oban Mining announced a transaction that will result in a simultaneous combination with four other mining companies along with a strategic investment from Osisko Gold Royalties Ltd. "People have been talking about (consolidation). We decided to do it” said Osisko chief executive Sean Roosen when asked about the rationale for the deal.
