Thomas Bauer is co-chair of the firm's tax group. He has extensive experience advising clients on income tax matters, with particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, cross-border transactions and investments, capital markets, income trusts and structured financings.
Thomas also represents clients in disputes with the Canada Revenue Agency, both at the audit and appeals levels, and has appeared as counsel in numerous cases before the Tax Court of Canada and Federal Court.

Thomas is a member of the Joint Committee on Taxation of the Canadian Bar Association and the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada, and a member of the editorial board of the Canadian Tax Journal. He is also a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation and International Fiscal Association, and a frequent speaker on tax matters at conferences and seminars across Canada.
