Varun Kapoor

Varun has a general corporate commercial practice in Edmonton. He assists on a broad range of legal issues including mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, commercial real estate, and private equity. Prior to joining Bennett Jones as an associate, Varun summered and articled with the firm. 

While in law school, Varun completed an internship with various justices of the Alberta Court of Justice. He also worked as Corporate Governance Research Assistant within the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Law and volunteered as a Case Worker with Student Legal Services. 

During his studies, Varun obtained the Honourable JJ Stratton QC Scholarship for outstanding achievement in a variety of Corporate and Commercial Law courses and was also awarded the Dr. Alexander Smith QC Prize in Contract Law for top performance in this course. Varun maintained Dean’s List throughout and won the Alberta Court of Appeal Constitutional Law Moot in 2022.
