Paul Beaudry joined BNN Bloomberg to share insights from the Bennett Jones 2026 Economic Outlook. He spoke about the transformational impact that AI had on the Canadian and US economies in 2025, and addressed the risks present in the sector due to high levels of investment without matching revenue yet being realized. Paul also addressed the trade relationship between Canada and the United States, noting that while Canada benefits from some of the lowest tariffs, ongoing uncertainty continues to dampen investment.
Looking ahead to 2026, optimism is growing as the federal government signals support for infrastructure investment, creating opportunities for the private sector.
The 2026 Economic Outlook was presented on December 16, 2025, and featured Bennett Jones' Senior Advisor and Head of Public Policy Serge Dupont, Paul Beaudry, Professor of Economics at the University of British Columbia, and Jean Boivin, Head of BlackRock Investment Institute, in a conversation moderated by Cheryl Woodin, Co-Head of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution department.
