Summarize

Bennett Jones provides regular pro bono legal service at Louise Dean Centre, and has done since 2003.

Michael Selnes and Stephanie Ridge assisted a Louise Dean student, her partner and children after they were locked out of their apartment and all of their possessions were thrown out. The Bennett Jones team represented their clients before the Residential Tenancy Dispute Resolution Service at three separate hearings and was ultimately successful in obtaining an order from the Justice of the Peace, who in a scathing decision in our clients’ favour awarded our clients’ significant damages from the landlord.

Following the decision, the Bennett Jones team was further successful in negotiating a settlement of the damages and obtaining a full payment of the settled damages to the Louise Dean student and her family.
