Summarize

Canadian aviation industry leaders are joining forces to create the Canadian Council for Sustainable Aviation Fuels (C-SAF), a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to accelerate the deployment of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) in Canada to ensure that the Canadian aviation sector remains competitive as it transitions to a net-zero future.

Bennett Jones is an Associate Member of C-SAF and is committed to bringing its expertise to help implement the Council's mission.

SAF are critical for the Canadian aviation sector to decarbonize and can reduce life-cycle carbon emissions by up to 80 percent compared to conventional jet fuel. Canada has all the ingredients to create an affordable and reliable SAF market: an abundance of renewable feedstocks, low-carbon energy sources, climate policies and evolving carbon pricing. Bennett Jones' energy industry clients have been at forefront of the drive reduce emissions in the aviation and other sectors, and we are proud to join them and our aviation clients in this compelling initiative.

Full details on the C-SAF, its mission and the importance of sustainable fuels in the aviation industry are available here.
