Amanda McLachlan and Sharon Singh are Lexpert Rising Star winners for 2021. This prestigious award honours Canada’s leading lawyers under 40 from law firms, in-house departments and other practices. This year's Rising Stars were announced during the virtual Young Lawyers Summit.

Amanda is an exceptional litigator who plays an integral role on some of Bennett Jones' largest and most complex litigation matters, ranging from securities and fraud investigations to shareholder disputes. Her practice focuses on corporate and commercial disputes, employment litigation and civil fraud litigation.
Amanda runs large and complicated files smoothly, organizing global filings, drafting critical documents, leading major strategic negotiations and arguing difficult issues. She is frequently called upon to oversee and manage large teams on matters that are extremely urgent and time sensitive.
A passionate volunteer and supporter of Pro Bono Ontario, Amanda participates in a variety of programs, including several pilot projects to assist self-represented litigants with matters proceeding to trial. She has also acted for several individuals on a pro bono basis on matters before the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, or matters that touch on issues of discrimination and harassment.
Sharon G.K. Singh

Sharon provides advice on regulatory, environmental, and Aboriginal law to the infrastructure, mining, energy, construction and agribusiness sectors. She has worked on groundbreaking high-profile matters and is recognized for her ability to create collaborative relationships with Indigenous nations, local communities and regulators.
She has been far ahead of the curve in advising clients on how to use Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) assessments and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) practises and reporting as tools to enhance organizational sustainability. Sharon is a standout thought leader on ESG and regulatory policy matters.
Sharon is an exceptional role model as a mentor and sponsor of associates and students. She is particularly passionate about broadening the profession to those with diverse socio-economic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
