Since July 2015, there have been three private equity-backed going private transactions involving Canadian energy and energy-services companies. There were only 15 similar transactions in the sector during the prior 10 years.

Gary Solway comments on capital raising n Canada. Nicholas Fader also adds that, in closings involving private placements for startup oil and gas issuers, it is often the case that financings rely almost exclusively on the AI exemption.
