Overview

Riley Whitlock's practice is focused on commercial real estate, project finance and municipal, land use planning and development.

He has extensive experience in acquisition, development, financing, leasing and sale of commercial real estate, including office towers and industrial, shopping centre and condominium properties.

Riley's practice also involves joint venture, co-ownership, shareholder and general and limited partnership structures and related reorganizations, general corporate and insolvency matters. He has represented public and private REITS, lenders, developers, and wholly owned municipal corporations with the acquisition, development and financing of some of the largest projects in Alberta.

Riley is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, the Canadian Bar Association and the Calgary Bar Association.  Additionally he is an executive member of the Canadian Bar Association, Southern Alberta Commercial Real Estate Subsection, was named as Canada Leading Lawyers for Business: Real Estate (Alberta) and recognized by Best Lawyer as "One to Watch" in Real Estate Law.

The vendor in the sale of a shopping centre located in south-east Calgary
Calgary Municipal Land Corporation and Calgary Stampede in a joint partnership for the development of a new convention centre hotel complex
Entity One in its subdivision, servicing, master planning and sale of residential and commercial lots comprising over 200 acres in the heart of Cochrane, Alberta
Skyline Real Estate Acquisitions in purchasing a portfolio worth in excess of $300 million, consisting of four business parks with a total of more than two million square feet of industrial space
