Amy Verhoeff

Amy Verhoeff has a general corporate and commercial practice with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, commercial transactions and other corporate law matters.

Acting for a diverse group of clients in various industries, including oil and gas, real estate, energy services, agribusiness and technology, Amy routinely advises buyers, sellers and private equity groups (including sponsors and investors) on a wide range of domestic and cross-border transactions, including joint ventures, asset and share purchases and sales, fund formations, private equity investments, corporate reorganizations and project financing. Her work on these transactions ranges from strategic advice to legal and business risk analysis, due diligence and drafting of definitive agreements and other transactional documents. 

Amy is regularly involved in the negotiation and drafting of key commercial agreements such as unanimous shareholder agreements, partnership agreements and employee incentive plans. She also advises clients with ongoing corporate and governance issues that arise in businesses, non-profit organizations and professional corporations. 

As an active member of the local business community, Amy currently serves on the advisory committees of the Edmonton Chapter of Young ACG (Association for Corporate Growth) and the Stollery Women's Network. She is also the co-chair of Edmonton Women in Finance's professional sub-committee and is the Vice-President of the Board of Directors of YWCA (Edmonton).
