Prior to joining Bennett Jones, Tikinas served as a law clerk to the Honourable Justice Ekaterina Tsimberis of the Federal Court, where she assisted on complex matters involving administrative law, intellectual property and other areas of federal jurisdiction. This experience provided her with first-hand exposure to litigation at the national level and a nuanced understanding of judicial reasoning and decision-making. Building on this strong foundation, Tikinas holds both Civil Law and Common Law degrees from the University of Ottawa, where she excelled academically and received several awards and scholarships. She also brings valuable private-sector experience in legal research, drafting and case management.
Tikinas advises employers on labour and employment matters across both federally and provincially regulated workplaces. Her practice spans the full spectrum of management-side issues, from day-to-day compliance with employment standards and human rights legislation to workforce restructurings, terminations and accommodation. She regularly guides clients on employment agreements, workplace policies and Québec-specific requirements. Tikinas also supports corporate transactions, conducting employment-related due diligence and advising on workforce considerations for clients operating or expanding in Canada.
Tikinas approaches every challenge with grit, discipline and composure. A former basketball and rugby player, she values teamwork, resilience and strategic thinking, qualities she brings to her legal practice. Her fluency in four languages and passion for travel reflect a natural ability to thrive in dynamic environments that require adaptability and a broad understanding of diverse issues.
