Matt assists both
individuals and corporations in a broad range of commercial matters, including
shareholder and contract disputes, product liability, foreclosures, builders'
liens, and other construction disputes. Matt also has experience dealing with
fraud matters and commercial class action claims.
Professional
Negligence and Discipline
Matt assists professionals,
particularly physicians and surgeons, in connection with both civil litigation
and professional discipline matters.
Employment and
Privacy
Matt has assisted clients with various employment
matters, particularly helping employees who have been wrongfully dismissed.
Matt has also advised clients on issues relating to the protection and
disclosure of information under Alberta privacy legislation.
Occupational Health and Safety
Matt assists clients
with occupational health and safety matters and has experience assisting in the
defence of health and safety prosecutions.
Matt has appeared before all levels
of court in Alberta, as well as various administrative panels and regulatory
bodies. With a background in Engineering, Matt has a particular interest in
matters that involve technical considerations or issues.
Matt is an
active volunteer in the legal community, volunteering with both the Edmonton
Community Legal Centre as well as the organizing committee for the Canadian Bar
Association's annual Law Day event.
