Preet Gill and Luke Morrison are winners of Lexpert Rising Star awards for 2022. This prestigious award honours Canada’s leading lawyers under 40 from law firms, in-house departments and other practices. This year's Rising Stars were announced at a gala event in Toronto.

Preet Gill
Partner, Toronto
Preet specializes in the analysis of complex and novel legal issues with a focus on insolvency and debt restructurings. She is highly experienced in CCAA and CBCA restructurings, as well as major civil fraud and auditor liability cases. Preet's practice also includes the provision of expert legal opinions and written advocacy, focusing on appellate-level facta. Preet sits on a number of partnership committees at Bennett Jones, including as Chair of the Toronto Student Committee, and is part of the mentoring program for the South Asian Bar Association and South Asian Women in the Law.
Luke Morrison
Partner, Calgary
Luke acts for energy companies on all types of commercial matters, including deals involving M&A, restructuring, Indigenous co-ownership and project development matters. He has considerable experience in acting as lead counsel on energy transformation project mandates, including renewable power generation, hydrogen, and carbon capture and storage. He is very active in the Canadian energy bar and in the Calgary community, the latter of which includes being a board member of The Educational Partnership Foundation.
