Sean Assié has a general regulatory law practice with an emphasis on facilities projects. He assists clients, typically in the oil and gas industry, on a broad range of regulatory matters, including environmental assessments, approvals and protection orders and matters relating to Aboriginal groups. Sean has represented clients before several administrative tribunals, including the Alberta Energy Regulator, Alberta Utilities Commission and Alberta Surface Rights Board, as well as the Alberta Court of Appeal.
Sean rejoins Bennett Jones following a time at Shell Canada Limited, where he also had an opportunity to work in Shell’s London office. While at Shell, he gained further experience in matters related to regulatory and environmental approvals (including oil sands) and negotiation of Impact Benefit Agreements with Aboriginal groups.
