Michelle Yung's practice is focused on the area of commercial real estate including commercial leasing, acquisitions and dispositions, real estate development and lending.
Michelle has extensive experience in all areas of commercial leasing transactions and regularly advises landlords, tenants and property managers on a wide range of commercial leasing matters in the shopping centre, retail, office, mixed-use and industrial space leasing sectors. Michelle also regularly advises clients on the acquisition and disposition of various real estate assets, including office, retail, industrial, hotel and development properties.
Prior to joining Bennett Jones LLP, Michelle served as in-house legal counsel to a leading national commercial real estate owner-operator and developer where she advised on the areas of commercial leasing, property management and procurement law.
In the community, Michelle serves on the board of directors of The Greater Vancouver International Film Festival Society, a not-for-profit cultural organization that operates the Vancouver International Film Festival and year-round programming. Michelle regularly participates as a volunteer clinician for Access Pro Bono Society of BC and has served as past co-chair of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers (Western Chapter) annual gala. She also served for a number of years on the organizing committee for Arts Umbrella's annual gala.
