In addition, he frequently assists physicians in dealing with professional conduct issues before the College of Physicians and Surgeons and various administrative tribunals and appellate panels.
His experience with corporate-commercial matters includes shareholder and contract disputes, product liability litigation, and securities litigation involving investment advisors and financial institutions.
Matt also practises employment law and is the first point of contact for his clients in Alberta, British Columbia and across Canada on a range of issues, including wrongful dismissal, privacy, human rights, and general strategic advice.
Matt has appeared at all levels of Court in Alberta, and has extensive experience before administrative tribunals, including Hearing Tribunals and Council of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
Prior to joining Bennett Jones, Matt was a management consultant for a global consulting firm, and a portfolio manager and wholesale electricity trader for an international energy retailer. This experience helps him frame his clients' legal issues through a business lens.
