The Government of Canada has undertaken an active programme of trade
negotiations. The Canada-Korea free trade agreement (FTA), Canada's
first with an Asian country, entered into force on 1 January 2015. The Canada-Honduras
FTA entered into force on 1 October 2014. Negotiations of the
Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA)
concluded in September 2014. CETA could enter into force by 2016.
