FATCA, or the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act, is new U.S. tax legislation targeted at curtailing U.S. tax evasion and raising revenues. It imposes onerous and costly compliance burdens on Canadian financial institutions, including investment funds. Co-written with Alan W.
