With a collaborative and detail-driven approach, he ensures that every stage of a transaction—from due diligence to closing—is strategically managed and effectively executed.

Overview

With a focus on corporate and transactional law, Asif plays a key role in navigating and executing complex deals. He brings a thoughtful and solutions-oriented mindset to his practice, assisting clients by drafting agreements and legal opinions, conducting due diligence, facilitating securities offerings, and coordinating with internal and external teams to deliver seamless transactions. Asif’s ability to anticipate challenges and manage intricate deal structures enables clients to move forward with confidence in their most critical business decisions.

During his articles, Asif was seconded to Volkswagen Canada, where he gained firsthand insight into corporate decision-making and risk management. Working closely with various business units—including accounting, compliance and design—he developed a cross-functional approach to legal problem-solving. The experience also sharpened his client-oriented perspective and deepened his understanding of how legal decisions directly impact business operations.

Asif remains actively engaged in the legal community, contributing to industry publications and supporting access to legal services. During law school, he was a caseworker at Osgoode Hall’s Investor Protection Clinic, where he provided pro bono legal assistance and education to individuals who had suffered investment losses. For his contributions, he was awarded the Bennett Jones LLP Investor Protection Clinic Prize. He also received the Honourable F.H. Barlow Scholarship in recognition of academic excellence in business law courses. In addition to his professional work, Asif continues to give back by providing pro bono legal support to Brampton City FC, a youth soccer organization.
