Andrea Steele

Andrea has a general commercial litigation practice and is a member of the Health Law group.

In her commercial litigation practice, Andrea advises on shareholder disputes, partnership disputes, and complex contractual disputes, including purchase and sale agreements, industry agreements and accounting issues. She also has experience in construction litigation and professional negligence matters.

Andrea's health law practice includes representing and advising clients in regulatory and administrative complaints before the College of Physicians and Surgeons and various hospital administrative tribunals. Andrea also represents and advises clients in medical malpractice litigation.

Andrea has appeared before all levels of Court in Alberta and other administrative tribunals. She is experienced in alternative dispute resolution proceedings, including domestic arbitration, mediation, and judicial dispute resolution. Andrea also consults clients on dispute prevention and mitigation.

As an active member of the legal and local community, Andrea is the Vice Chair the Canadian Bar Association Health Law Section (Alberta South) and the coach of the Bennett Jones Health Law Moot team at the University of Calgary. She also regularly presents on medico-legal risk to the Post Graduate Medical Education Program at the University of Calgary.
