Benjamin Reingold and Melissa Dimilta presented at the Canadian Bar Association’s IP Day on May 28, 2026, a premier event for IP practitioners across Canada.
Benjamin participated in a panel discussion titled “Lessons on Professionalism, Ethics and How to Have Fun While Practising IP Litigation: Teachings from the Illustrious Careers of Peter Wilcox and Sheldon Hamilton.” The panel celebrated the contributions of two renowned Canadian IP litigators and shared reflections on lessons learned from time spent working with Peter Wilcox and Sheldon Hamilton, who were lost to the IP litigation community too soon having passed away in 2024 and 2025, respectively.
Melissa participated as a speaker in the interactive session “Order in the IP Moot Court! Closing Arguments in a Case About Patentable Subject Matter.” Designed as a mock courtroom experience, the session delivered fictionalized closing arguments inspired by the 2026 Harold G. Fox Moot problem and explored the evolving boundaries of patentable subject matter.
