On May 2, 2006 Minister of Finance, Jim Flaherty, tabled the
minority Conservative Government's first Budget. Consistent with
the Government's previous statements, the Budget focused on
delivering straightforward tax relief to Canadians. While many of
the proposed changes target individuals and families, there are a
number of changes that will affect business and investors.
