Christine Viney and Richard Swan comment in Canadian Lawyer on what the COVID-19 pandemic might mean for insurance litigation and the insurance industry.
Christine says, “Insurers, generally, are going to be facing the full gamut of potential claims on policies.” She also says that in liability insurance, the pandemic will have insurers looking closely at pollution exclusions.
Richard says that when it comes to product offerings, “Insurance products do have a habit of coming forward to address a need in the market and – priced accordingly, of course – there will be new products or at least adjustments to current products that you see in the industry.”
