Brookfield Asset Management Enters Agreement to Acquire Gregg Distributors for C$1.6 Billion

Brookfield Asset Management, through its private equity business, has entered into an approximately C$1.6 billion agreement to acquire Gregg Distributors, one of Western Canada's largest industrial suppliers, whose client base includes oil field services, construction and trucking companies, as well as customers involved in major project undertakings. The deal is expected to close by the end of 2026. 

Bennett Jones acted as special counsel to Gregg Distributors B.I.G. Mutual Fund Trust, a private mutual fund trust that enables employees of Gregg Distributors to hold an indirect ownership stake in the company. The team was led by Jon C. Truswell and Mark S.
