Bennett Jones congratulates Nathan Shaheen on being named to the Investor Advisory Panel (IAP) of the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) for a two-year term. The mandate of the IAP is to solicit and represent the views of investors on the OSC’s policies and rule-making initiatives. The IAP is an important voice for investors in the regulatory process, and new members were selected to ensure that the panel continues to represent a broad range of relevant experience, skills, knowledge and perspectives.

Nathan advises Canadian and international clients on their most significant and complex commercial disputes. With a career-long focus on fraud and other financial crimes, he also offers unparalleled expertise in Canada’s anti-money laundering regime.

In his commercial disputes practice, Nathan advances his clients’ interests before all levels of court in Ontario and other Canadian provinces, as well as before arbitral tribunals and other avenues of dispute resolution.

In his fraud and financial crimes work, he investigates financial misconduct, traces and safeguards misappropriated assets, and ultimately recovers them through civil claims against perpetrators and third-party facilitators.

A sought-after thought leader in his field, Nathan is regularly published in leading industry journals and speaks on emerging legal and regulatory issues.

His initial term on the IAP will run until July 2027. Bennett Jones thanks Nathan for dedicating his time and expertise to this important role.
