Overview

Laura Glover has a general corporate commercial law practice with a focus on commercial transactions, public and private mergers and acquisitions, securities law, and corporate matters such as asset and share purchases, amalgamations, and reorganizations. She also assists clients in negotiating and drafting energy contracts related to oil and gas and renewable resource development.

While in law school, Laura received several awards, including the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN) Scholarship and Hope and Ian McLaren Cook, Sr. Scholarship in oil and gas law.  Laura is also a member of the Canadian Energy Law Foundation (CELF) Energy Law Fundamentals Seminar Planning Committee, further reflecting her commitment to the energy sector.

Before becoming an associate at Bennett Jones, Laura summered and articled with the firm. During her articles, she was seconded to the Calgary office of a multinational integrated oil and gas company. Laura also summered with a large energy infrastructure company during law school.

An avid athlete, Laura was previously a member of the Canadian national luge team.

CSV Midstream Solutions Corp. in its $82.2-million acquisition of KANATA Energy Group Ltd. through the purchase of all issued and outstanding shares.
Pine Cliff Energy Ltd. in its $100-million acquisition of a privately held oil and natural gas producer, through the acquisition, directly and indirectly, of all issued and outstanding common shares by way of takeover bid.
Nippon Steel Corporation in its $1.15-billion investment in Elk Valley Resources Ltd., a steelmaking coal business to be spun-out as an independent public company from Teck Resources Ltd.
