Overview

Celina has a general civil litigation practice with a focus on commercial disputes. She has represented clients before all levels of court in Alberta and has assisted in successfully advancing and defending complex contractual claims within the petrochemical industry in domestic and international arbitrations. She has experience pursuing high-value expropriation claims.

Celina also acts in policing matters and has contributed to novel constitutional and public law challenges, drawing from her experience in legislative development at the Senate of Canada.

Celina began her legal career as a summer and articling student at the firm. Prior to law, she worked in public relations at a multinational engineering, procurement, and construction company. She was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Scholarship for her contributions to social development initiatives in Cape Town, South Africa, and she continues to seek opportunities to contribute to her community.

Secured a C$95 million settlement in a complex action advanced by several mining companies claiming the Government of Alberta’s policy flip flop on coal mining resulted in the de facto expropriation of their mineral rights
Representing the Chief of Police of the Calgary Police Service in proceedings involving public inquiries and applications under the Alberta Judicature Act
Brought a successful application on behalf of two estate beneficiaries to summarily dismiss an action claiming an untitled interest in 6,000 acres of ranchland in southern Alberta: Graham v Graham, 2025 ABKB 329
