Kevin Zhou has a corporate commercial law practice with a focus on mergers and acquisitions and investment, financing and energy transactions.

Kevin advises clients on a broad range of transactional and general corporate matters, including domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt financings, joint ventures and corporate reorganizations.

Prior to joining Bennett Jones, Kevin worked in the Shanghai office of a major international law firm.

Kevin is fluent in Chinese (Mandarin).

TriWest Capital Partners, in connection with its partnership with Northern Lite Truck Campers and Off Grid Trailers, forming Outdoor Adventure Group, a leading recreational vehicle manufacturer and distributor.
Wolverine Energy and Infrastructure Inc. in its $150-million business combination with Green Impact Partners Inc. (formerly Blackheath Resources Inc.), completed in connection with a previously announced acquisition by Blackheath of the clean energy assets of Wolverine and the reverse take-over of Blackheath.
Mazooma Technical Services Inc., a U.S.-focused gaming and sports wagering payment technology company, in connection with its sale to Nuvei Corporation, a global payment technology company partner of thriving brands, and subject to the achievement of specific performance criteria, for a total maximum aggregate consideration of US$315 million payable in cash and subordinate voting shares.
The Bodtker Group of Companies in its sale of Nemco Resources Ltd. to Entreprises Émile Crevier Inc.
Cenovus Energy Inc., in its $23.6-billion acquisition of Husky Energy Inc.
Riverstone Holdings LLC, as Canadian counsel, in its acquisition of International-Matex Tank Terminals from Macquarie Infrastructure Corporation for US$2.67 billion.
Riverstone Holdings LLC, through its subsidiary Riverstone Pipestone LP, in its investment in the $67.9-million private placement of convertible preferred shares of Pipestone Energy Corp.
Pacific Oil & Gas Limited, in its acquisition of all of the issued and outstanding shares of Canbriam Energy Inc. for cash consideration.
CST Canada Coal Limited, in its acquisition of coal assets of Grande Cache Coal LP and Grande Cache Coal Corporation for aggregate consideration of approximately US$433.9 million.
PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc., in Anterra Energy Inc. CCAA proceedings.
TriWest Capital Partners, with the senior management team and the existing principals, in its acquisition of Coast Wholesale Appliances Inc. by way of a combination of assets and shares.
Fuzhou Bonded Zone Hejili Equity Investment Limited Partnership, in its US$21 million equity investment in Hydrogenics Corporation by private placement.
Statoil ASA, in its sale of Alberta oilsands assets to Athabasca Oil Corporation for the consideration of $435 million cash, 100 million common shares and contingent value payments triggered at oil prices above US$65/bbl WTI.
Tervita Corporation, in its $3.6B recapitalization transaction under the CBCA.
Eagle Energy Trust, a TSX-listed oil and gas trust, in its acquisition of Coda Petroleum Inc. for approximately $30 million (cash and assumed debt).
