Kieran Ryan has a corporate and commercial law practice with a focus on energy project development, infrastructure projects, private mergers and acquisitions and commercial transactions for energy related companies.
Kieran has also counselled a number of clients on the structure and negotiation of joint ventures and partnerships for the acquisition, exploration and development of oil and gas assets, specifically in the unconventional resource areas of oil sands and shale gas development.
In addition, Kieran has significant experience drafting and negotiating various engineering, procurement and construction and other project-related contracts and advising clients on the various stages of project development, including tendering, contract negotiation and project execution and contract administration.
- Penn West Petroleum in connection with its asset divestiture program which resulted in proceeds of disposition in excess of $1.5 billion, including the sale of certain Viking Dodsland assets to Teine Energy Ltd. for $975 million.
