October 17, 2011

Join Bennett Jones and external facilitator Dr. John Friedlan for the second in our four-part Financial Statements and Financial Reporting Series. Lawyers and in-house legal counsel frequently work with financial statement and other accounting information. This series of seminars is designed to demystify accounting and provide lawyers with the knowledge and understanding they need to work confidently with accounting information. Our second seminar deals with the income statement and will cover:

  • What is income?
  • Accrual vs. cash accounting
  • Revenue recognition and matching
  • Capitalizing vs. expensing
  • Different measures of performance

The seminar will have a practical focus. Examples from actual financial statements are used extensively to demonstrate the issues discussed.
