Overview
Rhiannon Szewczyk completed her Juris Doctor with an Option in Environmental Law at the University of Ottawa after earning a Honours Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Governance (with a minor in Economics) from the University of Guelph in 2023. During law school, Rhiannon distinguished herself in advocacy, earning Best Team, Best Faculty and Best Factum at the 2025 Fanaki Competition Law Moot and being recognized as a Distinguished Oralist at the 2026 Environmental Law Moot.
In addition to her studies, Rhiannon served as President of the Environmental Law Students’ Association and as a peer mentor. She gained practical experience through roles with the Senate of Canada, a community legal clinic, the Ottawa Crown Attorney’s Office and as a research assistant in Indigenous water law. Rhiannon is interested in litigation, with a particular focus on competition, environmental and regulatory matters. She will be clerking at the Federal Court beginning in July 2027.
