Samara Sayeed earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta, where she was actively involved in clinical work, research and student leadership. She served as a caseworker at the Entrepreneurial Law Clinic, volunteered with the Edmonton Community Legal Centre and also held the role of Vice President of the Law and Business Association. During her legal studies, she developed academic interests in corporate commercial law and intellectual property law and was a recipient of the David R. Percy K.C. Award in Law.
Prior to law school, Samara earned a Bachelor of Arts in Arts and Business from the University of Waterloo, majoring in Legal Studies and Sociology. She gained diverse analytical and research experience through her roles as a Category Business Analyst with a leading Canadian retailer, a Customer Analytics Associate with a global consumer goods company, and as a student researcher at an international university in Hong Kong. Samara speaks Bengali with bilingual proficiency and has conversational proficiency in Mandarin and Arabic.
