Overview
Mikayla Weissler completed her law degree at Thompson Rivers University, where she was recognized with the Gregory S. Pun Course Prize in Advanced Legal Research and Writing, the Norton Rose Fulbright Course Prize in Torts and has been included on the Dean’s List. During law school, Mikayla was involved in both academic and community initiatives, including volunteering with Pro Bono Students Canada, participating in the Women in Law Society and collaborating with the Canadian Association of Elizabeth Fry Societies on a research project documenting and memorializing individuals who died in custody at the Prison for Women.
Mikayla earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia, where she majored in English Literature and minored in International Relations. She also worked for several years as a legal assistant at a boutique civil litigation firm in Vancouver, where she developed strong skills in legal research, drafting, organization and client service. Earlier in her career, she spent over eight years working in the restaurant industry, which further strengthened her ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced environments. Outside of work and studies, Mikayla enjoys cooking, exploring local restaurants and staying active through HIIT workout classes.
