Blake Miller has a broad corporate commercial law practice, advising clients on a range of matters including mergers and acquisitions, commercial transactions and corporate governance.

Overview

Blake Miller has experience supporting clients in both private practice and in-house, including a secondment with Imperial Oil that focused on carbon capture, commercial agreements and labour negotiations. Before entering the legal profession, Blake held summer positions at Deloitte, Ernst & Young and KPMG in risk advisory, operations and accounting roles, giving him a strong business foundation that informs his legal approach.

Blake earned his JD from the University of Alberta, graduating with distinction and receiving numerous academic and advocacy awards, including the Honourable Lucien Dubuc Memorial Scholarship, the Blake, Cassels & Graydon Academic Scholarship and the Bennett Jones LLP Award for top oralist at the Bennett Jones Cup in Health Law Advocacy. He also received the Dr. Alexander Smith KC Prize for highest standing in his Contract Law course. Blake holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto's Rotman Commerce program, where he graduated with high distinction.

KKR in its acquisition of an indirect interest in the Westcoast Pipeline System from Enbridge, including related financing for the Aspen Point Expansion Program and the Sunrise Expansion Program

Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners (MSIP), as Canadian counsel, in MSIP's acquisition of a 47.5% interest in the Greenlight Electricity Centre, a C$4.6-billion, 932 MW combined-cycle power generation project in Alberta set to power a landmark C$13 billion data centre development being advanced by Meta Platforms. The Centre is co-owned by MSIP with Pembina Pipeline Corporation (47.5%) and Kineticor Asset Management (5%).

Westech Industrial in its sale to Hoskin Group, a portfolio company of River Associates
