Overview
Cathy Liu completed her Juris Doctor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law after earning an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Architecture (with a minor in Visual Studies) from the University of Toronto in 2023. She was also recognized during her undergraduate studies with the James and Hilda Warwick Award, the Daniels Faculty Academic Merit Award, the University of Toronto Scholar Award and Dean’s List standing. Her interdisciplinary academic background has contributed to her interest in real estate, planning, municipal, construction and intellectual property law.
In addition to her studies, Cathy gained practical legal experience as a caseworker with the Housing Division of Downtown Legal Services and through an externship with the City of Toronto. She also completed a directed research paper examining legal archaeology in contract law, served as an executive with the Asia Law Society, volunteered with Artist Legal Advice Services and the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers and participated as both an upper-year and mental health mentor. Cathy is bilingual in Mandarin Chinese and English.
