Overview

Joshua Lafond completed his Juris Doctor at Queen’s University Faculty of Law after earning a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Geography and a minor in Economics from Saint Mary’s University in 2022. Joshua has developed a strong interest in commercial real estate, tax and trade law, with Corporate Tax, International Commercial Law and Contracts among his favourite courses. Prior to law school, he received the Brian Rice Student Governance Award and the Rice Family Student Advocacy Award for his excellent contributions to student leadership, governance and advocacy, including his three years of service as a student representative on the University's Board of Governors.

In addition to his studies, Joshua served as President of the Queen’s chapter of the Black Law Students’ Association and the Queen’s Tax Club. Prior to his studies, Joshua also gained professional experience as a Community Data Analyst for Ottawa’s ByWard Market, where he worked on projects supporting local business and community development.
