Overview
Kate Garland earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Victoria, where she was actively involved in academic publishing, client-focused advocacy and business law initiatives. She served as Co-Editor in Chief of the Appeal Law Review and participated in the Canadian Client Consultation Competition. During her legal studies, Kate developed strong interests in taxation, securities and corporate law, supported by coursework in corporate taxation, business associations and secured transactions.
Prior to law school, Kate earned a Bachelor of Science with Distinction in Biology from the University of British Columbia in 2020. She gained valuable professional experience working with the in-house legal teams of both a major Canadian public company and a start-up retail company, gaining firsthand insight into corporate operations and regulatory considerations.
